Where exactly is the check ligament?

Ronnie has developed a swelling on the inside of his right foreleg, below the knee and in a diagonal line. It's a bit sore but no warmer than the rest of his legs, but he's not quite sound on it. The vet is of course, on her way, but I have been doing the stupid thing of googling that area and I think it could be check ligament.

But could anyone tell me where an injury to check ligament would swell? I have a picture of it on my phone but can't get it on to here I'm afraid.

I'm hoping it's something minor like a fly bite. But this is Ronnie, and nothing has so far turned out to be minor like that.

When my old horse did his check ligament he had a hard swelling on the outside of his leg below his knee.

ETA: He was not lame either on a straight line or on a circle though

we have a horse who recently sprained his check ligament. His just showed up like any other tendon injury. He was sound in walk and only slightly lame on a circle in trot. The damage to his was very minor though and the scan showed no permanent damage. He was off work for 5 weeks in total. We have another horse on the yard who has been turned away for 3 months with the same injury that has just come sound after a total of 6months off work.He had no visible sign of injury at all on the outside.

OK thank you. From your post and the post above, I think I might be wasting the vet's time. Better that than not I suppose. Fingers crossed it's nothing. He's already been off over a year with 3 other tendon/ligament injuries!

Good news - apparently he's ok! Don't know what the vet said but YM text me to say all ok. Phew. That's got to be a first where Ronnie is concerned

Thanks all for your help.
