Where have I put the passport?

Vet came last Monday. I remember looking at the passport to see the date for next year - but I haven't seen it since. It was only between the stable and house - so WHERE is it? I have looked in all the places it should/could/might possibly be. Help.

The last time I 'lost' mine (knew I had it between the car and the house) I found it on the bookshelf about 2 months later!

As my mother always said if you lose something retrace your steps. Did you forget to take it out of the yard and someone maybe took it thinking it was there’s.

No, the stable is at home, I only have to walk a few steps! I only realised because I happened to look in the drawer where it is usually kept, and it isn't there, so I went downstairs to see if I had put it by the desk, no, elsewhere - still looking but getting increasingly desperate. Surely it can't be far away. And I was only grumbling about someone who said they didn't know where their horse passports were and I was thinking "Well really, don't you have a place to keep them?" Oops.

What was the 1st thing you did when returning to the house?, answer the house phone make a drink change clothes put boots away tack away whatever it was that's where your passport will be. Or it's still in the yard/stable.

You've made me worry about mine now...might quickly check it is where it should be.

What were you intending to do after the vet visit? What had been your intended next step? Were you moving laundry, tidying anything?

Same circumstances. I’d opened the lorry and put it on the seat. Looking back I remember, it was raining and I just chucked it in to keep dry.
At the time I knew for sure I’d not gone anywhere between vet and house! ?‍♀️

Has is slipped off the car seat? Have you opened the passenger door and had a good look between the seat and the door? Did you have to slam on and it's now in the footwell?

Edited to say ijust re read your post and it sounds like horses are at home so ignore my suggestions ?

This happened to me and the vet had it, He had used his extremely full car boot as an office, under the tailgate, and it had mixed with his other stuff. Got a sheepish call a couple of days later. At that time I hadn't yet realised it was missing!

Update! Found! After practically hyperventilating with worry, and having searched with a torch all around the stable, downstairs in the hall, in the bedrooms and wondering if it had got put into the recyling by mistake, I decided to have another look in the filing cabinet.

Well, there is was. NOT in the right place, but quite near. Relief, I can't tell you.

Yes, the first place to look for lost keys!
