Friends have suggested I put up a wanted ad as there are not a huge amount of horses out there that are what I want. So far I have rung several who wont pass a vetting (nice of them to tell me tho), videos of a lame Clydie cross and a 260 mile round trip to see a lovely boy who unfortunately twists his fetlock) and several have sold before I get there :)

I am after a 4/5/6 yo, Gelding, 16'2-17'2, sports horse, must pass 5* vetting, no colour preference. Happy for it to be only lightly backed as I want something to bring on for eventing/dressage. Must have decent amount of bone that counts out most Tbs but I am not averse if they have good bone. I am thinking Irish will probably be the best.

Horsequest is brilliant. £11 for a month. I was inundated with responses and although my new horse didn't come out of that advert there were many that were good matches and that was only in about two weeks as I took it down after my horse arrived.

I have just sold a horse like this to a friend. But was a TB, well within budget as green, but trainable.

I put wanted adds on project horses and preloved and got a lot of responses, but most were small tbs. Even tho I stipulated.must b hunter type if TB.
Good luck.in ur search. X

I've tried H&H (both print & online at different times), HorseQuest and HorseMart. The only one that didn't bring in calls was HorseMart. I've also tried an ad in the Yorkshire Post (they also throw in Metro and some local papers as part of the deal).

BUT - not one of the 20+ calls and 10+ texts I've had so far has resulted in a horse worth going to view.

They've all been off brief, e.g. I want a 7-10yr old & have been offered everything from unbroken 3yo to 15+yrs. Also mares when I want a gelding, and horses that don't hack when I specified bombproof hack. Everyone seems to think I won't be fussy about whichever bit of my spec their horse doesn't meet :)

Lol, maybe better off being patient and not putting a wanted ad up then :)

To be honest, the longer I don't have one the more money I can save up! :D
