A straight bar hanging cheek snaffle?

Currently hack in a pelham, but since tis not dressage legal I need something the same in the mouth, for schooling/dressage. I can find happy mouth straight bars...any experience of those?

He won't tolerate a normal snaffle, I have the lozenge type, and we have few brakes/directional control in that. He is a cob....you probably guessed that!

I should add I have really soft hands, and in the pelham he comes into a contact on a tweak of the curb.
