Posted in here as thought you guys might have more experience with it.
Have decided that my horse just cannot get on with this saddle - even though devoucoux have checked it fits, he trots like a 12.2 pony!
Its only had 3 months use but received in december last year. Where is the best place to advertise do you think- would like to avoid ebay as I now need the money to buy a new saddle and don't want extortionate seller fees!!

Thanks

What design/size is it??
Can you tell I'm lokking

I personally would sell it through Devoucoux as if i was paying the sort of money it deserves that is where i would go 1st.

I know you have said you don't want to but I put mine on Ebay (advise of Devoucoux) with a reserve and got the price I paid for it originally!!! I am totally useless with Ebay and I was loathed to do it but seriously worth a try.

I did ask them, but they said they would only take it in part exchange - not much point getting another one tho!
Its black 18 inch chiberta, 2aa flaps, not sure of the codes but I can check them, its had 5mm foam added at the back as when it came it was too low at the back.

ah ok, im after a dr one, mary loves my chiberta but doesnt like my Butet dr saddle.
In that case I would look at horsequest and ebay, i have bought 3/4 saddles on there.

Irrespective of what Devoucoux think, do you think it looks like it fits? Has more than one person from Devoucoux checked it out? Since it is free (at least it was last time I bought one) to have the saddle adjusted in the first 6 months, I would be inclined to ask them to have another look at it - the man himself came out once to look at one of mine, totally agreed with my opinion of the fit and altered it on the spot. Given the rigmarole of finding another saddle and the potential loss of cash in selling second hand, it might just be worth putting your foot down with them and telling them to jolly well sort it out. If they can't make it fit and you're not happy with it then they should take it back.

Just re-read your post and seen that it was received in December last year, so you're outside 6 months. May still be worth pressing the issue with them before you sell it on.

I'll take it off your hands

Try the route daisycrazy just mentionned but would definately recommend ebay as they sell like hotcakes on there or saddles direct or something similar - just be sure about the price you want to get for it.

The man himself came out to check, said he couldn't change it as it fitted. Then proceeded to say it didn't matter the horse couldn't trot sound in the saddle as all it had to do was jump. My physio said its made him sore, they say there's nothing wrong so my conclusion is he just doesn't like the saddle. That and several other things they've said to me has just made me lose all confidence in them so my only option seems to be selling it.

I love it tho!

If you bought the saddle new and it was made to fit I would insist on having my money back as it patently is no good for your pony. You will need to get very pushy with them if they wont give in get an expert report from an expert and then take out a small claims at the county court as they are still responsible under british law, all the consumer law is on your side as the goods are not fit for purpose and you made your initial unhappiness clear well inside any 6month period they set.
I did this within the last year on a 18 month old saddle that they had been trying to fit for some time .They paid up plus the experts cost but prior to going to court.

I had my Chiberta altered about 3 months ago. I wasn't happy with it when it came back as I thought it too tight through the shoulder. My horse is a nappy sod but guaranteed clear round jumper. He has had more poles down in the last 3 months than in the 5 years I have owned him.

I had Mr Devoucoux double check the fit and he said it was fine. I tried my instructor's 15 year old Bates Caprilli close contact on my boy to see how he jumped. He jumped much, much better.....

I have phoned up Devoucoux and told them I want the saddle altered again to my specified requirements. Whether or not they will make me pay a further 200 quid (having paid that to have it altered 3 months ago) I don't know but as another poster said it will cost me so much more to have it replaced so it makes sense to get it altered.

Really wishing I hadn't asked them to check the fit in the first place and I had just left as it was. I only really wanted to confirm the fit was OK.

How ironic that I will be doing canter work with him tomorrow using a cheapo Wintec GP rather than the Chiberta

Good luck - the too tight on the shouldersis exactly my problem - but apparantly they can't improve that - so they said when i asked,It was not a very pleasant or amicable experience and got me nowhere, which is why i've given up on trying to sort it out - i don't want to end in tears again!
My local tack shop have just brought out a jump version of my dressagesaddle so am resigned to the fact this will be better for my horse if not for my purse

If you and your horse are unhappy and Devoucoux insist it fits then I understand you wanting to sell it and get something else! Personally, I think if you can show the horse goes noticeably and undeniably better in something else than in the fitted Devoucoux then they should give you a full refund (did they watch you ride and jump?) - but it does get harder the more time elapses between purchase and raising the issue with them.

Good luck!

if he said that, i don't think you're going to get any joy, what a ridiculous and ignorant thing to say. poor horse.
they have now gone even further down the list of saddles i would let near my horses' backs...
good luck selling it, tbh i would try saddleselect and horsequest for fees first and compare them with ebay. also, if using ebay, i would ask for cheque or bank transfer to save paypal fees on something so expensive.

You could advertise it on the British Dressage site under Classified - usually free ads witht a photo, so worth trying...

GET MAD !!!!!!!!
I did and got a refund on both saddles ! !
The told me they couldnt see my problem and it fitted, again I also had mr dev himself out, the saddles were flat on my horses back, whilst they were standing in the school saying it was fine I got off my horse, threw a bit of a trantrum and refused to ride my horse as I was causing him pain. Argue your case, be strong. maybe negotiate with them, tell them you will be appointing a solicitor and tell them you want your money back, if they wont give you it all back they may come to a better arrangement than a part ex.
