Hi,

I was just wondering whether anybody had ideas about where to advertise for a sharer for my mare? She lives near Moretonhampstead in Devon and I have put up adverts locally, as well as on Preloved and Freeads. I didnt really want to spend any money advertising so I was really just looking for names of other horsey/free websites I could put her on

Thank you!

Hi, no I havent I will look at that one now, thank you. I have only advertised very locally so far- town newsagents etc and if I ever manage to find the time I will be going out to all of them. Thanks for the suggestions!

I really struggled to find a sharer for my mare in Moreton, unless there is someone in Moreton it seems a bit of a trek for people and there seem to be quite a few people wanting horses ridden in the area! I found a nice girl eventually who drove over from Newton but only once a or twice a week. I found her through Preloved.

Other places I put ads were Freeads, Animal Crackers, Leonard Coombe, Tuckers in Ashburton, Mole Valley - might be worth looking in Jeffries too not sure if they have a board. Moretonhampstead riding club have a website and a newsletter you could ask if you can include an advert in there as they normally do a classified section.

Also might be worth a visit to Bovey Tracey and seeing if there is anywhere in the town for ads

Some people may drive from Exeter for the riding in which case try Town and Country, Farmers Friend, Orchard Nurseries, Rollestone feed. Shame you didn't post before I've been round them all today and could have popped the adverts up lol. Took all day to trek around all of them!!

Oh and another website to try which is free is Poniesdevon.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I will go on the facebook page and it is really interesting to hear that it might be difficult to find someone actually in Moretonhampstead- I had suspected that, it seems as if most people have their own horses there already!
