Where is my best bet for advertising for loan, she isnt perfect and very much a work in progress. I dont expect someone to put her right for me (shes green) but she is suitable for hacking and having a bit of fun on.

Or do you think its it pointless trying to loan a green horse?

It's worth a try putting her up for loan, as long as you clearly state thats she needs bringing on, not sure where you could advertise...urrm...mabye somewhere like the Pony Club website or horse quest? hope this helps ;)

I loaned my 'not so perfect' pony out twice and she was returned to me both times, she is fine to ride but takes a long time to settle in a new home and accept people she doesn't know, until then she is a top class mare and understandably parents didn't want their children around her.

It's so frustrating as she has so much to give and is a fantastic all-rounder but she's now just a field ornament as I can't find a small rider for her :(

I'd be slightly worried about loaning a green pony out just in case they did more harm then good with her, it can work but make sure she goes to someone experienced enough to deal with the problems she may throw at them whilst gaining the experience she needs.

Good luck :)

I dont really want to sell as she is a pony I have just fallen in love with and bonded with and I think I will be fussy about where she loans to as well. But my wages cover my cost of living (including her) atm and I really need to get out of my overdraft/ credit card right now.

I will try with preloved and freeads for now. She has just gone up on a couple of local facebook groups as well.

Try projecthorses.co.uk They have a horses for loan section and obviously the website is designed specifically for horses with issues. I put a wanted ad on the website and got a lot of response, most of it the sort of thing I was advertising for (no more time-wasters than I get from sale adverts for 'normal' ponies) Hope you find her a home.
