I have a horse for sale who is relatively low-budget. Have advertised on Horsemart and Preloved with a small response. Tried Facebook but my ads keep being blocked so it seems they have clamped down and made sure their algorithms block the animal adverts. I wouldn't object to paying to advertise (Horsequest, H&H etc) but my feeling is that buyers look on those sites for really good horses at quite a high budget so the wrong sort of buyer for this horse. I don't want to be accused of advertising here but he is a nice horse with a few quirks and medical history so I'm more keen on the right home than on the money. Where would you advertise him? Would Right Horse, Right Home be worth a go?

To be fair I find Horsemart has always worked for me, recently helped a friend sell her pony and all the viewings came from him being seen on there. Also just found her next horse via Horsemart! I saw my own horses ad on Horsequest, if you look there are now a lot more 'average' horses for sale on there, not just top end horses which I always used to view it as selling.

I think you have to be very clever on Facebook now to sneak an ad through!

On facebook are you posting your ad as a 'discussion' post or as an 'advert' post ? I've found the former is the way around the facebook algorithm. Plenty of people are still able to advertise in the horsey fb groups horses for sale provided they do it as a discussion post.

anytime I am looking to buy I do check horsequest and horsemart so I do think people do still check. However, when selling I have found most interest came through facebook and I actually have only sold to facebook buyers.

Facebook, join all the horse 'sale' groups and post as a DISCUSSION only. NOT as a 'for sale' post.

There are for sale groups with over 50,000 members on Facebook if you look for them,
