Howdoo,

Sitting at home with broken ankle so making use of time by window shopping for new horse online. I won't be buying for a wee while (need to get myself fixed first) but does anyone know of any good SJ dealders (pref SE England) with websites. Plan is to scan websites, look up sires, get an idea of price etc ready for shopping in Feb. Am looking for something that's 4 next year, about 16hh-16.3hh, aim to get to Grade A.

Roll on Feb...

Cheers

Try John Whinnett, has a web site www.johnwhinnett.com he is very fair and if you give him the details of what you want (shopping list!!) he will find you something suitable. If you don't get on with what he finds he will find you something that you do. I would recommend him to anyone.

Was going to say John . Cant go wrong with him really.

agree with jojo have had 7-8 via tracey and pip and all have worked out well.No website though although Pip (mike Lyons has ad in H&H)

My friend has bought several from John W and she has been pleased with them all. He does a PX too.

I've heard a lot of very expensive horror stories about Retreats Farm (Robertson) dealers so perhaps one to avoid?

I have had quite a few from John and they have all been what he has said although you have to be careful as some he tells you what he knows but that can be minimal and we have had a few nightmares but he is always happy to have them back

Also Carron Niccol has some lovely young ones

Everytime a post is asked wanting info about a SJ you come on to recommend Paul, who I have also heard is very good.

Interestingly enough I have a friend who rang the BSJA looking for an accredited trainer in Berkshire for her daughter and they recommended Paul.

No commission sadly, recommend him because I think he's very good having managed to teach me to jump properly, & he's just such a nice bloke. Hope your friends daughter enjoys her lessons.

Thanks everyone for the top tips and for all the PMs. John Whittle seems to come out tops with lots of you. Will investigate the others too. Can't wait to start shopping.
