I need to sell some saddles and want to have the postage organized before I advertise them.

Where can I buy a few (they seem to be mostly sold in bulk but i only need three or four) heavy duty cardboard boxes big enough for posting saddles in, that won't cost me a fortune?

Last time I sold some saddles I just went to an electrical dealer and asked if they had any big boxes. Got a couple of washing machine ones which fitted perfectly.

Thanks everyone. I just want to buy some tbh, I tried scavving one from local shops last time I sold one and it was just a load of mither. :D I think there's some on e-bay that'll do.

I have sold a few saddles on E bay. Trying to get boxes is a night mare!! All the shops recycle. I posted a saddle on friday i had sold.Had two smaller boxes which i disected, bubble wrapped the saddle and used loads of tape and string to join the boxes together!! The one on ebay look good tho i will be buying them !

I got one from a Storage company which sells them to people who box up their belongings to put into storage. It did the job and the saddle got there ok. Also bought the bubble wrap from them too.

I didn't bother with a box because it adds to the weight when posting, so I bubble wrapped the saddle making sure all the high points are well wrapped then i double wrapped it in a bin liner. Sorted!

i once recieved a saddle in a similar manner and to be honest wasnt over the moon about! it had clearly been thrown around. At least with a box you can see if its been squashed etc so can get a saddler to check it.
I always send mine in boxes, stuff with screwed up newspaper etc to help keep the saddle in the middle of the box, it doesnt really add to the cost if you use somewhere like www.interparcel.com, its never cost me more than £15 to post a saddle, complete with box, stuffed with paper etc.
