I have three haynets and two horses. This means that I can't fill them in advance for the week and have to do them every day.

The reason I only have three is because of all the haylage nets I have bought over the last few years only three have survived. They are all shires ones and are made of stern stuff!

So basically I want to buy a lot of reasonably decent, small holed, big haynets. But my good ones were £6 each and If I buy enough at that price I'm going to end up spending quite a lot of money. Especially as BH has his double netted!

Does anyone know a good way to stock up without spending a fortune? Apart from keeping an eagle eye on ebay.

So glad you asked this, have been wondering the same thing! Was at countrywide the other day and they had some for £3.99 in the clearance bin. Would be nice to find a job lot of them though!

Our local feed merchants does haynets for £1 but they are the large holed ones. They're called "credit crunch nets" or something like that.
I can't believe the price of haynets now, like you I double net using small holed nets and they are about £4.50 each!

Keep an eye out for local horsey car boots, my friend and I have managed to accumulate enough nets for 5 horses for a week and won't have paid more than £1 each (haylage nets) and a few times we have bought a bucketful for a few pounds (not all of those were small holed though)
