........a weanling / foal to make no more than 13-14hh very very cheaply?

Friend has just aquired a colt foal and we have no company for him. I have been offered free grazing for the above and as my neice is just learning to ride thought it could be a good 2nd pony for her in a few years time!!

Sales. You can find young, small ponies going as cheap as anything at the moment. I know Ashford horse market, which is near me, always has the type you are looking for, and usually most of them not going for a lot.

rescue/welfare charity? They'll be chocka with youngsters needing homes as the weather gets worse

last sale I went to New Forrest ponies were making £10 a head

Couple of hundred quid for the ones that look smart, £100 ish for the run of the mill, sometimes cheaper.

new forest sales are good, some for under £100!!!
