I've got a few like that hidden away somewhere. Your daughter looks very like mine (and I guess, most other people's when trussed up in a hacking jacket aged three LOL) at that age and stage!
 
Love the pics! thats how i would like a pony to be with my little one! I have tried PC's farrier and have been looking on and off for a pony for about 12 months now! Found one earlier in the week that sounded just the boy for the job only we have been away competing and when i rung to arrange a viewing this morning he had very sadly for us been sold!

I had a whole load of pics from that show that someone sent me, I don't know where the rest are now, that one always tickled me because she went into the tent with the pony a few seconds later and we all dived to make sure there wasn't an accident. (Wasn't they were just stood together choosing stuff, but still)

I wish I had another kid of my own to have Cassie, but I don't and no chance of one either. I just can't afford to run 2 ponies for her now.

OP, as the other have said, farriers, and local PC's should be a good help. I apologise for assuming you are looking for "cheap". What you are looking to spend should buy you a nice kind first pony.
 
Thank you very much, the one with the least white on him was the top eventing foal at the BEF sunnybank this year and they are both now branded Oldenburg! been a busy year but well worth it!

There are a few first ponies out there for around the £2,000 mark. There's an 11.2hh advertised in Worcester on the ads to the right ------>

Wish I still had my Shetland! He was the sort that could be lead through the kitchen & back out to his paddock by my two year old sister.
He would stand rock solid still while she groomed his tail & would not have dreamt have bolting/rearing/kicking.

However, put an older & more experienced child on him & he was only too ready to give a good gallop when given the green light

You could look for an ex show pony. They have seen the world and are generally steady at 10 years +. You just have to be careful with laminitis and that they are genuinely steady. Try to find one that was home produced!
 
I would have had the perfect pony for you but I wouldn't even think about selling him, he's worth hell of a lot more than 1k!

He's only 4 but I would trust him with any child on his back off the lead rein!
He's a real gem, very hard to come by, if my 5 yr old asked for canter he'd do it and come back to trot 1st time!
I broke him in myself, and wouldn't swap him for anything!

Word of mouth through the PC- but get in line!!! They are gold dust and rarely sold, only moved from home to home to be adored and worshipped by terrified parents who pray the now ancient pony won't be tottering off with them in charge.
 
My daughters pony used to give pony rides on the beach before we got her. We took her on loan over the winter, utterly adored her and ended up buying her. She's brill in every way, unflappable on or off the lead rein. We paid a hell of a sight less than £1000 as well

PC website - I also know of a very good riding school that has ponies for sale (some of which I've worked with and taught kids on)

Seriously though, local word of mouth is your best bet - many of the best ponies are not for sale but passed around from child to child - I know of a 28yo that is still going strong and has a waiting list!
