Where to find a coloured shetland mare/filly

I'm looking for a coloured shettie mare or filly must be registered in Lincs/Notts yorkshire areas I've been trawling the net for a week now and all seems too far away or too pricey. Anyone know of any?

I know of unregistered in North Yorks, very nice creatures, but the breeder does not register them, she is unhappy about the line breeding in the stud book.

Hermits stud do a lot of coloured and miniture spotted horses but there in Yorkshire.

If you contact the Shetland Stud Book Society they will put you in touch with breeders in your area.

Thanks for those will look in to them. I'm waiting for the York sales catalouge to come on line for this friday so may go there if there are any to save . Trouble is with me taking the trailer there who knows what i'll come back with!!!!

Why do you want to "save" a specific type/colour of pony? If your plan is to rescue one why not go to a charity?

No i'm not looking for a rescue as such it's just that when i go to these sales (which i don't very often as they upset me) i want to buy everything!!!! I am looking for a shetland to keep another one company.

the sales at henley in arden usually have loads of shetlands all ages and colors and colored! dont know if they are registered tho. but will have a passport of some sort.... 1st saturday of each month!

Is Henley sales still on? I thought it had died a death. Sorry, I got confused- although you could still try a rescue place, I'm sure they'd be desperate to get rid (you know what I mean!) of a small one.

I hate sales like Henley and Reading, always depress me. I'd have thought that the proper registered pony sales weren't too bad though? Saying that, the tb sales get me down too, maybe I'm just too sensitive!
