Can anyone suggest where to find a nice, safe middleweight 13hh-14hh kids pony in the Cotswolds, which doesn't cost the earth?

Friends of mine have been looking on behalf of their son and just can't seem to find anything under £3k. It doesn't need to be a world beater, just a safe hack that can jump up to 2ft6 and generally is a nice person. Oh and has to be a gelding.

They just had one vetted that failed the vetting and their little boy is devastated, so any ideas would be welcome. They regularly trawl the internet - Horsequest. PC website etc. But no joy.

Where are all the ponies? !!!

We've just sold one :( If we get another, I'll send it your way!

Contact your local pony club direct and spread the word out :) We've currently got a 13.2hh ex-trekking/jumping pony in, but he'd be more of a 2nd pony than a first. He's not got any naughtiness in him or does anything, but he's just the real little whizzy jumping cob type that you'd see flying round all the local jumping classes lol :)

There is a pony for sale at our yard that might suit. He is currently advertised on the Pony Club website - piebald 14.1h cob called Bob. He is a super all round fun pony - anyone's ride and very easy to do. The yard is in South Warwickshire but just north of Banbury and about 25 mins from Moreton in the Marsh if that's any help?

Hi, thanks both for your suggestions. I'll forward the link to Bob - I've just looked, he seems lovely, although might be more than they can afford. Thanks also for the Bourton Vale suggestion, good idea!

Unfortunatley with kids ponies the safe aspect puts a higher price on them than talent in most cases. Might be worth looking at older ponies too if you're not already.

If your on face book look at cotswold vale and Oxfordshire horse riders page and also Gloucestershire Horse riders page. Ive seen a few on there recently im sure.- There was a black or dark bay 14.1 a while ago that caught my eye.
