where to find second hand saddles?

I am looking for a close contact event saddle (secondhand) but there don't seem to be many coming up in the usual places - ebay, preloved, horsemart and saddles direct. Does anyone have any suggestions of where else to look? Am keeping an eye out in saddleries etc but they don't seem a very popular type to sell on! Ideally I would be able to find one selling through a company that offers a trail service like saddles direct, but am having no luck - please help!!

Close contacts usually have adjustable gullets, and so don't get sold on very often as people just change the gullet when it doesn't fit anymore.
 
Scribbles, I think you have hit the nail on the head. They are good, which explains why I would like one, but they are good so no one sells them!! Just can't stretch to a brand new one though!
My grey horse - I think brand will be dictated by my (not v big!) budget! Size would be 17'' to 17.5'' medium width. Saddles Direct do have a few I think would be worth trying so I think I shall give them a ring. How did you find their service when you tried their saddles? How did you decide how they fitted? I wouldn't trust myself 100% to judge that and the local saddler won't touch stuff he hasn't provided (I know - very helpful!)
ARGH, just need to win the lottery and then all this would be easier!!

I think they are a little cheaper (£700ish) on equestrian clearance? I was going to get one but my lad is so fussy it's best just to get the saddler out.
 
I found there service fantastic i ordered 3 i liked the look of and that i though would be roughly right size wise and they arrived the next day, i tried them all and straight away could tell 1 didnt fit the horse, 1 tipped me forward when i rode in it ( although i really liked it and it was a good fit!) and the 3rd fitted neither of us! Our local saddle fitter is great and will fit anything for a charge, so i had planned to have her out if there was 1 that fitted the bill!
I ended up keeping the saddle i already had ( was going to part ex through saddles direct ) as realised after trying others that i actually really like it and it fits well!
