I gave up horses a few months back because I just couldn't afford them, I was working part time but was going through a rough patch and after a couple of nasty accidents, I lost alot of confidence and called it all quits.
I really miss having a horse now and I have a better job so I can currently afford to have something that is fairly low maintenance (as far as horses are concerned, not generally!), and figured a cob would be ideal because I have owned cobs and I need something to give me confidence back!
I cannot afford to outright buy a bombproof cob, these are hard to come by and are always at least £1500+ which I don't have right now, I would need something or loan or I considered getting a cob youngster, so yearling - 2/3 years old because I once owned a cob filly and she was wild as they come at first, and within a couple of weeks she was following me around the forest without me holding onto her, and she left me with a fantastic feeling of achievement so would love to have this again.
I have searched a couple of sites but just cannot find any that have a traditional nice sort. Dragon driving has so many I want but they all look horribly underweight, and most are backed and ridden as yearlings which puts me straight off and makes me wonder whether they will have problems in the future. I really would like something cheap enough to buy outright, or to pay for via installments. I have tried NFED, Horsemart & Dragon Driving, does anyone else have any suggestions for websites with good sturdy traditional WELL KEPT cobs are sold?
Or does anyone on here have one for sale/loan?
