Posting for a friend, she is looking for a horse to take her daughter from ponies to horses, hopefully to do ODEs, must have a competition record, and have some record of breeding, prefer south west area but willing to travel for right horse, anything considered, PM if you prefer.

I would STRONGLY recommend going to ireland - I went in August and have a lovely young horse. Its really easy - you see a lot of nice horses - I would have been happy to buy any that I saw.. and flights to Ireland are cheap - it cost £10 return, Ryanair always seem to have deals on.

I went through Richard Sheane (he has a website). He collects and returns you to the airport, takes you to see the horses, is very knowledgeable and very entertaining. Its a great day even if you don't buy. There is NO pressure to buy at all. You speak to him before going, tell him your requirements and budget and leave the rest to him.

There are other people on this forum who have bought through him (all with different budgets and requirements) so you can ask for their thoughts...

I had bought from a dodgy dealer in the past so was very anxious about the whole process but had become totally fed up with traipsing round seeing horses that were not as described. I went with great trepidation but found it a really pleasant way to buy a horse. My only regret is that I don't need another!!

I can PM with contact details if you want

HorseQuest is very much Southern Orientated ime

What sort of money are they looking to spend. I know of a wonderfully easy mare for sale that had BE points. She is 7 yrs old and very straightforward. She has never had a xc fault and would be an ideal teenagers horse.
PM me if you want some more info/pics.

Thanks for the replys
Vrin, my friend dont mind travelling but I think Ireland would be too far.
charlie 76, if you could send some more info by PM that would be great.
