Looking for something nice and cheap to have fun on and bring on over the ummer. (up to £2000 ish). I just want something to bring on. Don't want anything unbroken or something with a big problem that needs sorting out? I have looked on prject horses but most things have an issue to sort out or problems on the ground (behavioural). I want something to then sell on and idealy get out cubbing and to PC over the summer and autumn while my other horse is out of work.

Where can I find this sort of thing? Everything seems ridiculously over priced for what they have done.

the best thing i find in terms of finding something cheap with no dodgy probs is to buy 3yr old unbroken at least then you can back it now ride it away through summer then cub at the end, that way your not paying silly money for it and could make a profit if you sell it next yr.

sorry didnt read it right if you dont want something unbroken id be surprised if you could get anything half decent for under 2000,the only type are ex racers but generally even these go for more than that if there any good.

type in your requirements in horsemart and view them all with suspicion. Am viewing horses at a dealers at the mo , my other horse is out of work and the fact some dealers do a warranty/swap of sorts makes them more favourable to private sellers in these short term buys.

where abouts are you? as i have a 3 year old gelding but depends what size your looking for etc he is sec d x id is backed but green no behavioral issues just needs to learn pm me if interested

Racehorses....

They'll have been ridden, handled, seen traffic etc. Just need to be taught a new way of going.

The best bet is to approach yards directly, so that you can be told a bit about the horse etc. Now's the ideal time to find a point-to-pointer as the season's almost over and many yards will be having a clear out before next season.

Also most pointers should have seen hounds as they need to hunt to qualify.

me!
I'm selling my 5yo Tb mare for nearly that money and people are suspicious as she is so cheap. She never raced, we backed her over the winter and she is only for sale as I got very badly kicked in the face in january so wasn't allowed to go near the horses, let alone ride for some time, and now I am pregnant so confined to only riding the older horses till baby arrives.
She's very sweet and no vices and a lovely type, but people seem to think she has a problem because she is cheap. Its me that has the problem, not her!

Ascot sales.
Mustard came from there, he was as cheap as they come but he was absolutely fantastic- a total doddle and great fun. I sold him on for a profit despite the fact he cribbed and had been pin fired.
