Where to look for older horse?

Hiya, sorry random topic that came up over lunch today, but am on the look [again lol!] for a horse for a friend/owner of ours.

Basically, any ideas where to look for an older horse for a bit of light [very light!] hacking once or twice a week and generally just to live out and be loved and pampered over? To loan or buy, whichever.

No real specifics apart from being dark coloured, 14-15hh, preferably cobby type and just a complete old saint safey really!

Not really had any luck searching through all the usual websites, so if anyone fancies a horse shopping mission feel free! :D

Yeah have looked on the Glenda Spooner website for her as that's the nearest centrebut nothing suitable atm.

I would suggest ask about locally, farrier, saddler, vet, amongst friends. We acquired a companion pony, 19 years young that belonged to the neice of someone OH knows through work, but was outgrown. He's ideal for us, lovely character, easy to handle by children, happy with a bit of light work, happy to live out with the other one, and the previous owners are thrilled he's gone to a home where they know he'll be looked after for life, and will keep in touch and they can come and see him if they wish.

Ah sorry...forgot to say south west area lol,ideally somerset area if poss!

Anything cobbyish build ideally, and am staying away from anything with wording along the lines of 'confident/experienced rider needed'....as just want a nice steady kick along gent/lady :)

I'll pass on that last one though, the D sounds suitable though maybe a bit over priced for what she wants as it's literally just needing to be something semi-retired and to just be mooched round on a quiet hack once a week and living out being pampered other than that :)

I personally have heard of a couple of older horses available to good homes, but currently don't know if they are ridden horses or companions only, they are also in their 20's, so may not be suitable. If they turn out to be ridden horses I'll pm you.
 
Brilliant thankyou! Age and looks not an issue, and riding is really just going for a walk round the estate once or twice a week :)

Too big sadly :( Anything between 14-15hh as she's not overly tall so wants something small enough to hop on easily enough.

Sorry haha...I thought there'd be quite a few older semi-retiring horses out there needing a home but not had much luck finding any suitable! Think I might try local riding clubs round here and stuff and try word of mouth....someone might have an oldie sat in a paddock somewhere that might benefit :D

Any other websites you know of? I've tried horsehunter, trade it, horse mart, horse quest, equine adverts, right horse, freeads, facebook, preloved, various charities...Having a mind blank at any other websites tho!
