Where to look for transport hire?

So I am getting my first horse, but now don't know who or where to look for transport to move him to new yard..... any help or advice great appreciated!

First people to ask are the current owners, many like to see where their horse is going and will be happy to deliver for some fuel money. The yard you are going to may be able to help either by picking him up or knowing a local transporter to recommend.

The yard I am getting him from do not have transport at the mo, and the yard I am going to know someone who loans out the trailer but we do not have a tow bar

What area are you in as that would help with suggestions, maybe post in the regional section as well.
The yard you are going to really ought to know a local transporter in case of an emergency if they do not have anything on the yard, it is a good idea to find one or two numbers and put on a notice board in the tack room just in case.
