Where to report neglect/cruelty

Obviously not the RSPCA, but for the second time in 6 months, someone in my area who I know of to say hello to, but no better than that is selling and extremely under weight horse and something needs to be done as clearly these horses are being under fed/neglected.

WHW and BHS welfare first but they are likely to call the RSPCA but at least they know horses

Are these horses advertised online? Surprised potential purchasers haven’t challenged them.

Also, if they’re a dealer - as well as contacting the council you could also try trading standards.

On Facebook yes. The people selling are not the sort that would be bothered by Joe public saying anything. The only way would be via the relevant authorities

Dealers of a type yes, not large scale decent ones

I found the BHS better for recording a complaint and sending a welfare officer to have a look at the problem than an initial call to the RSPCA. The BHS did then get the RSPCA involved but they responded more promptly to them than members of the public.
