I've recently moved to South East London (to be with my man) giving up my lovely loan horse to do so...and I don't know any horsey people around.
I'm looking for a share horse, but while I do so, can someone recommend a decent local riding school? I don't just want to plod around, but actually learn. I've lost some confidence jumping over the past few years and would love to shake off some bad habits and get jumping happily again. Somewhere friendly and sociable would be a plus.

Maybe a bit far out but I am going to do some shameless plugging for my yard in Maidstone, indoor and outdoor school, fab hacking, jump paddock in the summer and a pretty good range of horses pm if you want any details

I'm afraid Maidstone would be too far with the cost of petrol these days - lovely as it sounds!

I can't find a website for Chelsfield - does anyone know what facilities they have/what level they cater for? Will give them a bell tomorrow anyway. Thanks

Gosh you are very close to me. I don't know whether it's too far, but you could try http://www.wvstables.com/ It looks lovely. PM Giggles in here for more details if you want, as she helps out there. From what she tells me it is a super place.

sweet_decline, I'm liveried at Chelsfield (although I'm moving my boy on the 6th June!) AND I live in Sydenham - Small 'HHO' world! PM me if you want directions. I'll definately be going there this Sunday morning if you want some moral support or possibly even a lift ?

Dulwich riding school is only open during the day - so no good for evening lessons.. Also is very small - but never ridden there so can't really comment.

You could also try Bexley - there are stables there... or Willowtree is in Lewisham (Have no idea what that is like...)

I personally find SE london a bit of a pain for riding... I used to live in East London and was oddly easier there!

Widget - strangely enough I used to live in East London too!

I did go to have a look at Dulwich, but it's not really suitable for what I want - perhaps more for children...

I have visited Chelsfield Riding Centre which is near to me and it has a lovely new outdoor riding arena - its all being done up and has new owners....

There are loads of places to ride - have a look on our forum and ask our members we are all local to you...
