Not an advert, I promise - just looking for advice!!

I bought a hit-air jacket a year ago, a size bigger than I needed as I intended to wear it with a Kan body protector and they are quite bulky. However my horse has been broken ever since I bought it and so it has hung in my wardrobe with all tags and labels still on. I didn't buy the Kan in the end, and now use a much slimmer BP - so the air jacket is really just far too big for me and I would like to sell it to buy a size down.

Where would be the best place to sell something like this? The obvious place would be ebay but I've had some not-so-great experiences of late so am a bit wary of doing this. Obviously I would like to get as good a price as possible as they aren't cheap to start with, but know I am unlikely to do so.

Also, if I do manage to sell it - would I be able to post the jacket with canister inside? Or is this classed as an explosive?! x

Have you thought about going back to hit air? if its still got tags they might exchange it (for a cost?)

Also if you are buying another do you need to sell with Canister otherwise how do they send canisters out? I'd try to advertise on some of your local Facebook groups or preloved, with local pick up?

are you 100% sure it wont adjust down to fit you? They are so adjustable as well. When mine was fitted i was told the sizing really goes by length and how far down it comes at the back. Other than ebay have you thought about preloved or one of the FB advertising pages?

Can't help with the best place to sell - I have a child's air jacket I'm trying to sell at the Mo. but I can help with the postage question. Its a common myth that you can't post air jackets because of the canisters but in fact you can. You can't send them airmail without filling in a load of forms but you are perfectly OK to put them through the UK post.

Places to sell .. I've tried tack sales, but no-one has that sort of cash with them. Ebay - not sure what went wrong there as they do sell on ebay a lot. And advertising through my local hunt. It is mid summer so it could be that people (well - kids parents anyway!) are thinking more about the costs of camp and holidays than the cost of an air jacket so we have given up for now and will try again in September before the hunting season begins. Good luck though!
