Can anyone suggest some decent shows to take my rising 1 year old to0, preferably in the East Anglia Region, she is by Showmaker so a very fancy young lady, so ideally I am looking for some potential sports / dressage horse classes ideally at county level or at least , where I dont have to go up against a mix bag of native types.(sorry no offence)

I have been scanning horse dates but cannot find anything above riding club level.

Suggestions please.

Newmarket In-Hand Shows. Rosettes for every foal and yearling in their classes, plus a Sports Horse class as well. Panel judges for all classes.

Fantastic trophies, rosettes and prizes and everyone guaranteed to go home with something. Schedules will be out for July 12th at the Animal Health Trust at end of this month or beginning April - and then another show on August 23rd at Exning Park, Exning which will have even more prizes on offer, plus lots of challenge trophies as well.

Lots of choice and even with a yearling Sports Horse, there will probably be about 5 classes at least you could do. PM me if you want further information or want me to send you a Schedule. They are both listed on horsedates under their relevant show dates - just look for Newmarket In-Hand Charity Horse Shows.

It may be an unaffiliated show - but our judges like Sue Rawding, Katie Jerram etc etc. all remarked on the quality of the horses on display last year. They have both agreed to come back again to judge this year.

Woodbridge only has Hunter classes. The Suffolk and Royal Norfolk countys have sports horse classes but they have to be registered with the SHGB as well as their own breed society to be entered.

Sibton show in july .It has sport horse classes.
Tendring possibly do ?
Royal Norfolk
Hadleigh show ?
South suffolk show
The jays showing show often have classes for youngstock.
Why do you only want to do sport horse classes,as a yearling she could do hunter youngstock couldn,t she?

Sorry, Kim12, I see that Woodbridge has put hunter/sports horse classes this year. If you really think that you have a serious sports horse, the enter it for the BEF FUturity. They have one at Keysoe and Arena UK this year. It is a lot of money though,(£50) so make sure your youngster is of good enough quality. If you go on their website, theres loads of advice and pics from last years evaluations.
