Where To Try? Potential Sport/Event Horses For Sale

I'm just wondering where would be good places to try for young sport horses/KWPN's/Thoroughbreds that are not ridiculously priced?

Potentially looking for something between 3-4years, to produce in the background of my other horses in age classes and aim to be my next big event horse in 2 years time. Thing is, seriously haven't got a massive budget.

Im a massive fan of the KWPN's and Holland Horses, they have the real wow factor, but I find they're a lot cheaper over there, and as soon as they're brought to the UK they are ridiculously priced.

Also don't know whats in Northern Ireland or where to try there, as dont hold a passport so couldn't head to main Ireland itself..
 
Irish Horse Imports- it a bit ropey and the horses do lack condition, but you can find some gooduns if you've got an eye! as its going into winter, im sure the prices will be low as they wont want to keep the horses through winter. don't know about KWPN's or Dutch horses though.
 
If you want something for nothing you'll have to buy something that looks ropey and hasn't had any work at all, especially if it look slike it will go big eventing. Might be better to save or buy a younger horse.

I bought my boy from here. Strangest buying experience but he's a good'un. Find out when the next Goresbridge sports horse sale is then see what he's got. You will have an interesting day if nothing else!
 
depends on where u live, i think the best place to find KWPN is the netherlands...
just catch a short flight and hire a small car...
they do beautiful dressage horses...
my instructor do that every so often

This, really... Unless you get a serious diamond in the rough, you'd be lucky to get a youngster to do age classes on for a small budget. Unless your idea of a small budget is £6+?
 
Don't know where you are based or if you will travel but you could google Astrid Bolton and see if she can help you. She has other horses available as well as the ones shown on the website and countrywide connections.
 
I know our vet has very good warmbloods bred to compete for sale he has bred himself. Don't expect him to give them away (mention the depressed market as an excuse to try it on & you'll be told what he thinks), they are sensibly priced for the quality & no import costs.
