maybe it wasnt the most effective of political statements, but surely it is better to have a dead horse than to riot and have injured people? and in SM's defence she has not said once that what was done was right.

Because 'you' the public cannot take death? Its part and parcel of life, there is no shying away from it, a dead animal is a dead animal.

There isn't any difference to me if someone shows me a picture of a dead fox or brings a dead fox around to me in the flesh, I guess thats just the way I've been brought up.

I wonder if any other pros agree with severnmiles that it was a great idea to drive a stake through a horse on a public street in Brighton? AA? Hercules?

Um, Peta, I have not once said I agree with it and I am still waiting for your reasons (for which you obviously cannot think of any seeing as you are constantly avoiding the question) as to why it is unacceptable.....

Its rude to keep a lady waiting and I am a particularly impatient one!

"maybe it wasnt the most effective of political statements, "

You're telling me !

"but surely it is better to have a dead horse than to riot and have injured people?"

Problem was, they did that too.

"and in SM's defence she has not said once that what was done was right. "

You mean I'll have to stop arguing ? Oh.....

You're telling me, I'm referring to Peta and yourself by the way.

I still can't believe that you cannot 'take' a dead animal in the flesh, yet you're a meat eater. Skinned, jointed, and covered in plastic in the supermarket doesn't really look like a dead animal does it?

Well I'll let you fight that one out with Peta.

[You know, I bet if I dumped a dead horse on the pavement, the police would give me a ticking off very quickly.....
It's not fair, us antis cant get away with anything.....]

You know, I bet if I walked down the street with an iron bar and a balaclava over my head and then proceeded to trample all over yours and your neighbours gardens and cause criminal damage I'd be locked up.....its not fair, us pros can't get away with anything....see my point???

I found it amazing that some neanderthal terrierman thought it would help the cause to drive a stake through a horse on a Brighton street. I find it even more amazing that you think it was a great idea.

Peta FFS grow up and answer my question. You're so full of crap its unbelievable. Have I once stated I think it was acceptable let alone a 'great idea'.

With the likes of you around it really is no wonder the public are swinging in our favour is it?

Answer my damn question!

Which question?

Do any other pros agree with severnmiles that it was ok to drive a stake through this horse?

It wasn't the cleverest thing t do, but it doesn't matter now. Hunting continues and the support for hunting is now greater than ever before. That is what matters.

Unlucky peta.

Peta, Im an anti and keep horses (and various other animals). When my horses die I am obliged to take their shoes off then tie their legs together at the fetlocks before rigor mortis sets in. I then phone for the truck to take them to the rendering plant in Alessandria. They are hoisted onto the truck with me directing the back end using their tail, they can get a bit bashed about sometimes during loading. They are then dumped ontop of whatever dead, smelly animal was loaded beforehand. The truck takes them off to be A. skinned. B.gutted. C.boiled-all fats are collected aduring the boiling process and then sent off to another plant where it is turned into feul for industrial burners. D. all bones are then treated and sent off to yet another plant where they end up in cement which is then used to build houses, hospitals, schools etc. Dead horses and other animals are on every street in Europe and even in the walls of our homes. So a stake being introduced into the body of a dead horse doesnt dually upset me. Ever been to the "Drains" where medical students get anatomy lessons? I have, and you wouldnt believe what goes on with the dead human corpses, but thats another story.... Mairi.

There's all the difference in the world between what happens to a dead horse on, say, a farm, and transporting it to a street in Brighton, dumping it on a public streeet, driving a stake through it and then summoning the media so the moment can be preserved on film for ever.
