Been trawling through all of the websites online to find a decent horse, and i cannot find one!!!! am i being unrealistic? i want one thats safe to hack i.e. wont start rearing out of no where but not bothered if a bit spooky. dont mind sharp in the school and dont mind green as long as it isnt going to kill me! no older than about 9/10, 15.2 to 16.1. want a sporty type but no ottbs, and dont want to go over £2000! argh it seems impossible! i just cant find anything. theres lots of tb's but thats what i have now and i dont want another one, want more of a ish or one with a bit more bone. Ive looked on here, preloved, horsequest, horse exchange, horsemart and all of the groups on facebook. also local dealers. what am i doing wrong?! any tips on horse hunting please? feel like im never going to find one:(

You are looking for the similar type to most people, the most popular age, size and the standard requirements of must be a safe hack and basically a decent, mannerly horse to have around, the budget will not really get you one in that range, there is a shortage and most sellers of the genuinely honest and safe horse will know they can ask more money than they could if it was not safe to hack.
Either wait until you can spend more or change your requirements to fit the budget, you may still find what you want if you keep looking but a slightly older or smaller horse may be easier to find, if you can bring on a green one maybe look for a sensible younger horse that has been hacked out but not yet done much schooling.

Thanks; your right there is nothing around for my budget. unfortunately have lost quite a lot of money recently to do with horses so not really in a position to pay much more. The height and age are really a must, but yes thats a good idea about a youngster who has hacked out and not done much schooling; in fact that would be great. what a brill idea

I'm sorry to read that it's not working out with your TB.
Thank you, he needs an experienced person to bring him further, he is a fab horse and will make somebody proud
This ad seems to fit your bill. I would go for this horse if I wasn't in the same position as the current owner and in the process of buying a house
argh cant seem to find it!
not sure where you are in the country but saw this one, looks a sweet type, no confo shots but might be worth asking for some?

oh i do like the first one might send them a message:)

Like you, I've been struggling to find the right horse. I personally think the market is really quiet at the moment. This time last year my wanted ads on Facebook and horsequest had loads of people emailing and calling me with horses while this year I've had 5 phone calls and 4 responses on Facebook.

Keep your eyes and ears open through instructors, farriers, etc as it sounds like the decent ones are selling quickly via word of mouth.
