Any ideas/or know of any good websites where I can find a little companion pony?

I have 3 horses on the yard and I've decided to look for a little companion to nanny the big boys if one has to stay in or if I'm out with 2 horses etc etc.

Ideally, I've decided to look for a little whippersnapper- a miniature or a shetland as long as it has a nice temperament! no colts, must be a gelding or would consider a mare, feet that have been trimmed, vaccinated etc, be in good health and not old.

If any of you know where I can look to find one I'd be grateful if you could let me know as it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, oh and it has to be located within reasonable distance of Sussex/Southeast area and a reasonable price

Thanks!

Any centre will have easy to do companions that are in need of a good home that do not have health problems, for a small donation fee.

Ditto

Rescue centres can be over run with ponies plus your also helping towards their funds, I'd rather do that than line the pockets of dealers/tinkers that breed a load of rubbish for the sake of as little as £10-40 that there selling for.

Thanks to everyone for your ideas and replies, am just having a good think about all the available options, I agree it would be a lovely idea to rescue a pony and give it a good home. Then again, am toying with the idea of maybe getting an Andalusian/WB foal/yearling to bring on in a few years time! aarrggghhh decisions!

LadyT- am loving the little pony you mentioned- he's very cute- just wish he was a bit nearer to us! and yes he prob would fit in a car LOL!-

I will give all of your recommendations some thought and I will let you know what I eventually decide upon!

Thanks again, much appreciated!
