i really rode on sunday, and enjoyed every minute of it
it wasnt the neatest of rounds; but we came 2nd in the 75cm
im off to 1st round trailblazers qualifiers this sunday, and combined training first round trailblazers qualifiers the sunday after

and my pony was really good tonight :)

xx

well done you :)

i am in the same box my horse has just turned 5 and only jumped with me.

We had our third jumping lesson today and it was so cool survivied i did not fall off or die :D

ah that sounds fab, atleast you have him young enough to teach him how to jump properly
we just go at 100mph round everything

i even got a comment by someone at the gate going "bloody hell shes got a good seat"
she got a bit deep into some; leading to some funny jumps with long reins!!
and we had 1 refusal; she stopped and i thought she was going to rear, and i sat all of that.. gave her a kick and we went from halt to canter really quickly (only about 3 strides away) to fly the jump lol

i was so happy that i actually rode her, and made her listen to me.. rather than being tanked round and having loads of stops...

That is such good news, I am delighted for you. Can I ask a really silly question? What is trailblazers? Here in this country, there is nothing to jump in unless your registered with SJAI and that starts at 90cms. I wouldnt jump a 90cm course, no actually even 1 single jump at 90cm, maybe 70cm if it was on a good day, so there are no competitions to do. It's so frustrating, even if it's a giant of a horse, when they are learning, they are expected to jump 90cm course. I'd move if I could afford to.

Anyway, well done, love to hear good news!!!!

hi i use to live in ireland there are hunter trials all over the place if you are really looking for something to jump.

sounds like you had great fun jumping. i love riding my own horse you know what they are thinking ........ although there was that time that he thought i was a fly and kicked me in the head  must have been on a parallel universe then lol!!!!

well its like a "grassroots" type competition
sponsored by spillers and SEIB and BETA

they do showjumping classes for juniors and seniors (classes from 65cm - 1.05)
showing classes for juniors and seniors (all the usual stuff)
dressage for juniors and seniors (w&t - elementary)
and have introduced combined training for juniors and seniors

so you go to a 1st round, and have to get a certain placing or score; which allows you to go on to the 2nd round; and if you qualify after the 2nd rounds then you go to the championship finals in stonleigh...

thank you very much :)
xx

Wish we had that here, thank you for explaining it, is it for horses or ponies or both?? I really am delighted to hear of your confidence coming back, it's not very nice being afraid of something you love.

depends on the discipline
i know the 65cms they do a 12 year and under class and a seperate class for riders over 12
but i think the classes are split 148cm and under, and 148cm +

not sure though

it is difficult; but i am getting there, considering a couple of months ago she wouldnt even canter properly...

shes a stubborn old mare lol; and should know better at 19!!
