Which are the lightest saddles?

Hi everyone, 🙂
I’m here for advise.
I have been riding in western saddles for many years now, although I used to ride English before.
Unfortunately I have injured my back and there are times when I can’t ride for weeks because my back is too painful and I can’t lift my saddle Which is about 15kg.
So I’m thinking of changing saddle. Doesn't have to be western. I need a super light, under 4kg, that I can lift on my 17’ friesian even when my back is hurting.
I would like a saddle where I can feel “stuck in” and secure and it would have to be padded and comfortable.
Any ideas?

If you want super light saddles but don't mind ones that are not conventional looking you could look at the endurance saddles from podium or setzi, others include Pandora and hombra, i think it is, but they are not based in the UK.

I think this sounds a good call. I saw an older one for sale somewhere and it looked like an armchair. You could also try compositi stirrups? It’s surprising the weight metal stirrups add to a saddle.
 
I think the Wintec Stock (Aussie) saddle could work but not sure if it would fit your horse and it is a bit heavier than what you are looking for. I have the Wintec Lite and it is 4 kg and lovely but you aren't stuck in it and the seat hasn't got much padding (you could always add a sheepskin seat saver though). They do a wide version for the Wintec Lite so perhaps a better fit for a friesian.
Otherwise, Abetta makes (used to make?) some synthetic western saddles that are lighter I think.
