Which bedding do you think is best and why?

Been on pellets since November. Love them, if they start to smell I just mix a new bag with some dilute disinfectant smells nice sgain my problem though is pony likes to take her hay for a walk and I have bits of hay in it which frustrates me.

I have our two large and wet horses on liverpool wood pellets. I have thick mats and I put a 3" deep bed over half the stable.

I start with 3 - 4 bags and top up with 1 - 2 bags on average a week. These are 15 k bags. Occasionally I do use 3 for Farra but she is a 17 hand clydesdale that eats 3/4 bale of hay and drinks 50 litres of water a day.

Mine are in 24 x 7 3 days a week and out 5 - 6 hours a day the other 4.

These work best for me as they are compared to other bedding, a reasonable price - I buy a ton at a time. Storage is great, as a ton fits on a 1 m x 1 m pallet. Very quick and easy to muck out. I take wet out on Stinky once or twice a week and Farra every other day and pee stays in one place. I can skip out Stinky in 5 mins and Farra in 5 - 10 mins compared to 15 - 20 mins on a shavings bed. I also find they are very good for wet horses.

I have used them three years and have no plans to change to anything else.
