AS in the title! I have been to friasthorpe a few times but someone recomended Filey and wondered if it was worth a trip?

We are near Malton so Filey is actually a bit closer.

Any other recomendations are welcomed!

I don't know Friasthorpe (must look it up for a visit now...), but was at Filey a couple of weeks ago (dog walking only) and saw quite a few riders on the beach, looked like they were having great fun! Very long beach when the tide is out with a consistent reasonably firm footing so should be good for horses.

Sounds similar to Fraisthorpe :)
Never been to Filey so can't compare, but love going to Fraisthorpe! The only thing I can think of as a negative point is the tiny windy road leading to the beach itself, if Filey is a similar beach with easier access then that would be great :)

I dont know if its still the same but I remember going to filey beach years ago and you had to ride down a fairly steep concrete ramp to get down onto the beach.

I took the dogs for a reccy to fraisthorpe and have to say I much preferred it (in terms of taking horses!) its just finding the time to go!

Have to agree tho the windy road into it is a bit of a pain in the backside - im glad I went in my car first as we did struggle to find it!
