which bit do you use for hacking?

Hanging cheek French link for schooling but he can lean like a swine if the mood takes him! Kimblewick for hacking and jumping can keep a very light contact for most of the time but bottom slot has recently been brought into use for cantering in exciting situations as was having the odd brake failure! :-)

half cheek eggbutt snaffle, he has this bit for everything. He has a double bridle with a different bit on, couldn't tell you what bit it is, haven't taken it out the box it came in since I've had him... Haven't needed to thankfully :)

straight bar pelham... he doesnt like joints at all and he has a fleshy mouth so hes in the metal one as the metal and the volcanite ones are too big and he doesnt like happy mouth bits :/ fussy git!

Straight bar Pelham, 2 reins, can be very strong when cantering & also enjoys pretending to be scared of silly things with the result of smacking me in the face, doing a 180 spin & trying to belt back in the direction we've come from! I know it's wrong but he has a grackle on with it, he's comfortable & happy, the grackle isn't tight & as he's a horse that let's you know quickly if he doesn't like something I've just carried on with it.
