Well im looking for a new bit - my horse is curretly in a fulmer snaffle. I can find him strong in this sometime. He was previously ridden in a bubble bit, but this caused him to bring his head into much, and tip me forward.

He has a very low neck, and when jumping, this causes him to become very long (meaning related distances are becoming a problem) and I find it very hard to ask him to come back to me and collect him.

Somesome suggested a tomthumb bit to raise his head and give me come more breaks. Any advice on this bit would be great, or any suggestions??

I ride in a copper tom thumb and use it for daily schooling and for jumping. It works really well on my ISH who at her last home was discribed as to strong so they sold her. Even in open space with the tom thumb I can pull her up with little effort or collect her.She has evented up to novice in this bit too. I would definatly recommend a go with one.
Good luck !

My daughter rides her pony in a Tom Thumb - he was a little too strong XC and also went very long and on the forehand at times - he now has brakes, and when asked, goes in a much better outline, and seems really happy in it.
