Hello!
So I'm a little unsure on which bit I should use on Toffee. Usually I use a continental two ring gag with a French link. Toffee is a pretty strong pony and I usually use her gag bit for cross country and show jumping if the bit is allowed to be used. I sometimes might use it for flatwork, just depends how she's feeling
. The gag bit is one I use the most as I feel I have more control. The other bit that I use is a hanging cheek French link bit. I use this for showing as I can't use her gag for showing and I use it sometimes for flatwork. But I'm just a little unsure if I should replace the hanging cheek with a snaffle bit? This is just for showing and flatwork lessons as she's only really strong when we're jumping, and I think that the gag is a bit much for flatwork especially if she's not strong. I think for showing snaffles look a little neater too. But I'm just really not sure because I don't want to be doing a show and then she decides that she doesn't want to stop
Is it worth a try or should I just stick to her hanging cheek for flatwork and showing? I've also seen the loop ring snaffles, I thought that maybe this might give me some control while we're riding, I'm not sure if I can use this for showing. I'm just not sure!
Thank you!
