Rider who is working with my pony at the moment mentioned a stronger bit!! Tbh i think pony was only strong today as he was out having a good fast ride with lots of cantering and was in behind another horse, company gets him a little excited and being in behind makes it even worse! He's ridden in a full cheek french link with drop noseband and while i was still riding i found he went really well, im not likely to change the bit until iv sat on the pony again and even then its unlikely but just wondering what people would see as the next stage up?

Iv had a problem with riders holding him in too tight a contact so i think he just wants his mouth left alone which is the way i ride him! Im pregnant so wont be back on him until aug/sep!

If you can manage it without causing offence I would suggest the rider has some lessons to improve her seat before opting for the stronger bit. Otherwise I would look into the kk range and single joints perhaps with copper rollers and experimenting with different thicknesses, failing that a waterford moving to a french link dutch gag as the last resort. This is of course just my opinion.

no offence taken, iv mentioned lessons a few times but nothings come of it, rider knows i wont change bit until either i sit on the pony on my YO/boss advises it so i suppose if their that worried they'l have a few lessons!!
