My new baby cob was being ridden in a thick eggbut snaffle and in my opinion it was fitted too high. He has a tendency to open his mouth when ridden so his old owners put a flash on!!!!
Since getting him home I have lowered it and taken the flash off and he seems more comfortable. Not riding him much as he is having a new saddle made. Saddler agreed the bit is too thick as he has quite a petite pony head and thinks a jointed snaffle might be a better option.
Having rooted through the tack room I have the following in his size;
Loose ring KK lozenge snaffle(think it was a training snaffle) in a warm gold metal (cyprium or something)
French link fillet baucher snaffle
Myler comfort snaffle - dressage legal with no hooks or ports, just a slightly curved mouth shape and a barrel in the middle.
Which would you choose?
(btw he has had his teeth checked)
