which boots?

hello

i am new but a lot of you might know my sister or mum

i am going to burghley tomorrow and i really could do with getting some new boots and leggings/chaps. i like the mountain horse xcellsior leggings and thinking of getting those. i really like the ariat ones too but i think they might be out of my price range for the boots too unless they have a sale on! any recommendations on what wears/last well would be really appreciated

I have the xcellsior leggings and I love them, mine are looking a bit worn out now after a couple of good years use. I have Mark Todd short boots that I wear with them which I nice but take quite a bit of wearing in, they look good though.

I had the MH SCS3 boots and the Xcellsior leggings and can't recommend them enough ! Very comfortable and smart

I have the mountain horse ones you mentioned and think they're fab, so much more softer and supple than most leather chaps/gaiters out there. BUT after 2 years of usage (worn about 3 times a week) they need replacing, as the leather is flaking off (they're synthetic with leather coating) The rest of them, zips etc, has lasted well tho.
I use the Loveson Sheppey leather chaps for general schooling now which seem to be more durable- and quite a bit cheaper.

At Badminton there were some serious bargains on Ariat short boots so you might find some bargains at Burghley

you did really well, i wasen't brave enough to do the classes you did haha. i will definitely have to have a look there then

im so excicted ive never been before as we normaly go to badminton so cant wait!

thank you for all your replies. the mountain horse ones are the sort of style i want so i am open to other suggestions as long as they look smart

i would wear them about 3/4 days a week so i need something that will last!
