Which breeds do you NOT like?

I love all breeds

Anything that is too delicate and nervous from being shut in a box 7/7.

On the whole, there are certain riders that I would dislike more then their horses

I don't think there are any specific breeds I don't like. I've ridden a few horses/ponies that I didn't like, but I would think that unfair to judge a whole breed by a couple of individuals.

There are types within breeds that I don't like - I dislike the mega-dished heads with tiny muzzles of some Section As, but I really like the old fashioned, slightly dished type.

Arabs aren't my cup of tea either, but I can't help thinking that some of them are absolutely stunning to look at.

There's none I really don't like, but there are some that I wouldn't buy. Shetlands for one, incredibly cute, but can be little terrors! TBs and other things with skinny delicate legs. Not anything hugely cobby either. In fact, I just want Chex!

Would never want an arab, think they are too much "look at me aren't I pretty" but they don't actually do anything. And they look hideous too, funny shaped head and neck, sorry to any arab owners but I really don't like them.

I'll tell my 100 mile in a day (or to be more exact 100 miles in around 9 hours riding time) arab that he doesn't actually do anything...

If I counted up all the miles he's covered that are recorded in his endurance log book he'd have been round the world a couple of times! He's raced in Dubai, Ireland and France, was British National Champion and completed the Golden Horseshoe/Red Dragon and Lindum rides, amongst others...

You don't get much tougher than an arab...

My 'pet' hates are Warmbloods (or dumb bloods as I like to call them), because most of them are like robots and they tolerate being bullied too much, Cleveland Bays because all the ones I've had anything to do with have been mean spirited, and shetlands because they're evil and pointless...

Didn't like highlands...until I found out that the cob I rode everyday was infact just a hogged one!!He's just abit gorgeous!(Dun aswell)

Not too keen on show ponies(type?)....umm...Not a huge fan of WB's...all the ones I have dealt with have been just too dumb!!Sorry WB lovers!!

Not a huge fan of Appalosa's...or cremellos...or QH's...ummm...sure theres more LOL!!

I don't like warmbloods, arabs, small ponies (even though I have one), full tbs...the list is endless. Thats only for me, though, I have no problems with someone else wanting one but as long as I haven't got to deal with it!

There are no breeds I particuarly dislike - but I would only ever have a Purebred Arab.... I've owned and ridden other breeds and ride various Warmbloods of various levels (at a very well known dressage center in the South East every week) but I have to say the ride an Arab gives you is so much better than anything else - my boy carries himself so beautifully - he floats and after getting off a WB I really feel like i'm getting out of an old banger into a Porsche!

.... I'm going to run and hide now before anyone jumps on me - But my Arab does dressage (very well in fact and the judges and my trainer love him) - he can also jump! He also has to have saddles specially made for him as he is wider than the x-wide standard saddle fittings - me thinks he's a bit more substancial than some might think!

I must say i don't particularly dislike any breed but i don't think i would ever own a spanish horse, just don't do it for me im afraid.

I wouldn't say i really dislike any breed, there are just some that i wouldn't personally have. I have got a shettie and did say that i would never have one of those!

I would say Arabs or Anglo Arabs, only because all the ones I have known have been nutters.
Umm, like most other breeds, but wouldn’t choose a WB for myself.

Fresians - just don't get on with them...
'warmbloods' - I know this covers a fair few different breeds and types and I am sure there are lovely ones out there - however I find them a bit too indifferent, the ones I have delt with were a bit too slow and easily pushed about, they had no spark... I'd never go out intentionally looking to buy one...

Arabs - although i wouldnt go looking for an arab I have known more fabulous ones than bad and wouldnt say no if one came to me....

And another here too!

I also dislike Shetlands with a vengence, cannot for the life of me see why they were ever invented; Cleveland Bays (bolshy noughty things that like to drag you everywhere! again, sorry SSM!
shocked.gif
) and not a fan of Section Ds either but that's simply cos I can't ride one side of one!
frown.gif

Also have to add warmbloods! Admire their paces but think they're as thick as s*^* and put them level with a CB!
grin.gif

Shetlands - little monsters, tiny bundles of pure cheek the ones I have met!

Not a fan of pure bred arabs either (not purely from an aesthetic point of view) but am quite partial to anglo arabs and a streak of arab in some horses. My last WB's dam's side was all arab - gave him a lot character!

I don't really dislike any breeds, wouldn't buy a purebred arab, shetland, thoroughbred, welsh A or a coloured cob though, but thats just personal taste
