Which breeds/types do you prefer when buying?

Mine is a anglo-arab, and, even if I'll probably get soon a very different horse, if I had to buy a horse, I think I would probably go for another anglo-arab.
They are perfect. :p

Are they popular in England?
(in France they have an awfull reputation)

Definately Danish Knabstrupper - never owned such a trainable, intellegent horse that is as honest but still full of character and of course you get the spots as well.

Do they? Ramzes sire to Ramiro was one of the most important influences on modern warmblood breeding. He was an Anglo/Shagya Arab.

No prizes for guessing my favourites.

The Cleveland Bay is a superb horse for the lesiure rider, ride drive, jump and so a bit of dressage. Sane, sensible and oh so loving. My 17hh stallion is a real baby.

I don't really judge the horse by its breed to be honest as I believe that a good horse is never a bad breed. However, Irish Draughts are lovely and I do have a bit of a soft spot for Appaloosas. ;) :)

I like warmbloods - the bigger and poncier the better... I'm on the hunt for one to loan at the moment - so keep your eyes peeled folks

That said - I rather fell in love with an ID/Connie cross the other day.

Nothing wrong with narrowing it down to what you want in my opinion.
Nowt wrong with other people saying they dont care what they end up with but for me if Im looking now only an ID or and ID x is going to be able to do what I want to do :)

I like highlands, oddly enough. I only have eyes for them, tbh. If I wanted something with some blood to it, I'd want it pb highland ;) I may have suggested someone breed me a nice highland x quarter horse the other day :o

Well, over the years I've had a mixture of breeds, so I guess I don't have a favourite type.

Provided the conformation and temperment are sound, I'm happy!

I think you decide on the basic parameters (size, sex, age, price), then what you want to do and with search engines these days see what comes up. I found by the time you put some limitations in you don't have too much choice. Especially if you limit the region.

Anything with long ears and part horse :D

What a lovely picture from Jinglejoys.

The most successful horse competitively I have ever had is a Selle Francias.

But the most fun I have had is from RID's, 2 of them, one just a hunter, the other a show horse whose life was cut short.

Only room for ID's on my yard these days.
