Which bridle for showing a traditional?

This is Echo, he is on loan with us and we are in the process of buying him, and may do a little bit of showing next year.

Showing traditionals is new to me, and I'm not sure what type of bridle for him. I would have used a plain hunter type, but underneath all that hair h has a pretty 'pony' head, so do I go raised noseband and browband, or should he have a coloured browband?

Plain & simple! No pretty colous I'm afraid with a flat 'hunter' type noseband.

If in doubt, always go for the simple, flat noseband hunter type bridle. Def no colours or fanciness

Completely plain with no raised bits or colours

Plain and flat with a very broad hunter/cob style noseband. I would also go for black (traditionalists will tell you show tack should be brown, but black looks better on a piebald!)

I use a plain flat havanna bridle on my coloured native mare. She is essentially a coloured Dales and has that pony head but looks lovely in a 2"wide flat noseband. I got mine from Fylde. It was made to measure because the cob wasn't big enough and the full size was too big. They are really helpful people.

We have brown tack on my piebald. I still prefer brown to black. However, it is not that important. He has quite a pretty head for a cob, but still suits the thicker leather.

Thanks everyone, I did think it was hunter style, the conut is that I have a couple of bridles in that style already! Will have to be black as he has a black saddle!

Dark brown/havana hunter bridle, if your going to have double reins, have one plaited and the narrower plain. He's cute, good luck
