I am looking at either the Jeffries IR bridle or the Stubben 3000 range, any thoughts on the above or is there something else out there that I should be looking at ?

I am buying a new Jeffries saddle so did think I would have a Jeffries bridle, but just want to buy the best in my price range about £180, obviously the cheaper the better.

So fire away your recommendaions or thoughts.

I love my Jeffries stuff. I have a set of reins that are over 15 years old and going strong, very safe and in great nick.
I have a Jeffries bridle for showing and one for dressage.
My everyday bridle was £95 complete in the traditional range and it's taken a hammering over 4 years and is still looking fab.

I just bought a Jefferies and for me it came down to that or the Stubben.

I decided that the Jefferies was just classier!

Also, a few years back I took a stubben bridle to a local saddler to have it re-stitched and he told me that their leather work is not always great (hoping this isn't defamatory!

So in short - go with the Jefferies

I love jeffires and always get it i find it lasts forever and looks great. I have a jeffries traditional bridle that i use for everyday use and have done for about 6 years but it still looks fantastic and cleans up well for all shows including showing where I just add a sliphead.

Thanks Law- Maybe I'll go with Jeffries to match the saddle,
How do you clean look after yours?

I used the Jeffries proper cleaner stuff on the showing bridle which is for best and only used a dozen times a year or so.
For my jeffries saddle and all my bridles and leather bits and pieces I use my two fav products... Effax creme and balm (the balm is the best!)
Leather Creme

Effax Balm

Thanks for the links, I'm afraid cleaning isn't my strongest point, but I know that I am going to have to look after my new saddle and bridle, I won't be getting another any time soon according to OH!

I brought my Stubben bridle about 7 years ago, and it has been battered (mostly during the time my sister had it in her posession - she doesn't believe in any form of tack cleaning or looking after tack.... grrrrr!!) and it is still ace. I have used it on all kinds of different horses, from a 14.2 little welsh D to a 16.3h GP warmblood, and its now living for another generation as I am using it on my baby horse now!
I wouldn't part with my stubben bridle for the world!

Couldn't get a Stubben bridle to fit my horse, would highly recommend Jeffries, lovely english leather. If you are buying saddle and bridle together ask for a discount!

I have a stubben bridle, which i love, the colour is lovely and so is the quality. Thumbs up for it. If you have a nice new jeffries saddle then it would be nice to have the bridle to match.
I need to save for the stubben saddle now
