I would like a plain, non-heating, no junk chaff and nuts. I would like to avoid cereals where possible.

I have just bought a horse which needs a bit more feeding, have had a good do'er who has survived on a handful of hi-fi lite for 4 years.

I can feed ad-lib hay, and have good grazing so weight gain will come naturally - he has already improved quite a bit since I got him.

Currently I am feeding hi-fi lite and pegasus nuts, but am open to suggestions for the best chaff and nuts?

I seem to be totally out of the loop.

I feed plain D&H High Fibre Nuts with Speedibeet and just add whole microionised linseed when I need to add weight. Mine is usually a v good doer but a bit on the slim side ATM (which is no bad thing as if he goes into spring overweight, he'll be immense by summer) and is getting a mug full of linseed each day. He gets a morning and evening feed; usually give linseed just in evening but when I need to put a bit of weight on him, I put some in his morning feed too.

Might be worth changing your hay for haylage? Also maybe add Yea-Sacc to make sure he's using his feed properly...

I am no expert. But i currently feed my boy hi fi original with apple altho he's cobby i have found he needs a little bit of a boast to keep him looking healthy. This seems to work and altho its been trial and error with the amount i seem to have worked it out (i've onlyhad him about 6 months!
