My mare is currently getting Saracen Veteran mix and hifi original chaff twice daily for the last month or so and she is looking fantastic since being on the mix. She also has int he evening feed angus castus for her seasons, linseed oil (only until it is used up when I will be stopping that) glucoasmine for joints and salt.
I have had problems with her feet (Thrush and DCS) since last October which I had finally put down to her previous feed (all Top Spec based) having never had problems with her feet and all this occurring a month after going onto the topspec diet. She is barefoot.
Feet are improving since being on the new feed and although I am not naive enough to think this will happen over night there is definitely some improvement confirmed by the farrier.
My question is.... I am wanting to get her some chaff which may help with her feet along with everything else I am doing. Once the hifi original is finished I was debating moving her onto the Dengi healthy hooves but I am not sure if this is a basic chaff or a complete feed? Which obviously if it was a complete feed I would not want to feed it along side her veteran mix.
Any advice please?
Thanks in advance!
