Hi,

My horse is a 16.3hh ISH (by Jumbo). I'm entering a county level show and wanted advice. I think he'd be a lightweight hunter but wondered if he'd also pass as a riding horse? He has 8 1/2" bone and is quite 'light' in his movement. Any advice gratefully received :-). Hope the photos load ok!

Have you got a better photo of him. He is too coarse to be a large riding horse, but the pictures do him no justice.

Much better when he is not trying to be a giraffe !

Hunter, get the feathers off and shorten the tail. Lots to look forward to. If you are going County level I would go amateur to start with, see how you get on and then try novice and hopefully, opens.

Thank you :)

Welcome, have fun and don't under estimate what you can achieve. Make sure he will let anyone ride him and expect the unexpected.

We took a novice out yesterday for the first time, massive horse at 17.3, ride judge refused a leg up and got on from the ground. Horse did not like it and the first few steps out of the line up were very nearly a series of bucks.
