Which classes?

Can i do with an unregistered welsh D cob? I am investigating getting him registered however what can I do in the meantime? He has just been backed this summer, 14hh gelding with lovely paces, and I am slightly confused as to which classes I could enter?

Most local/unaff shows will have Mountain and Moorland classes and a lot of these don't specify the ponies have to be registered. Otherwise riding club horse/pony, tack and turnout etc. Does he have a full mane?
