which clip for my pony?

my pony is quite hairy at them moment and i want to clip him this year (not yet as he still get ALOT fluffier) also he wasnt clipped last year but i found he got quite hot when excercising an this year we are doing more

he isnt worked very often in the week until december but at the weekend and when i do ride he is worked quite hard - pony club, showjumping, shows, xc and hopefully hunting

so...what clip do you think i should give him

I would have thought a blanket clip or a high trace would be ok. Is he in or out? You could always start with a trace and then take more off if necessary, once it's off you can't put it back on! Having said that I just clipped my pony, who's work sounds exactly the same as you boy. I gave him a full clip as we do a bit of showing and it's better if it's all off (left his legs on!) and I just make sure he's well rugged. He lives out in the day and in a night and never had a problem with doing it this way

I give my mare a low chaser clip she works a lot but lives out til December so it's a good compromise.

I would go for a chaser or trace

Start off with a trace clip and then if you need to take more of then you can. And atleast you won't need to buy any more rugs except stable!! x

i like the sond of the chaser or trace or him
he lives out until end of oct then is in at night until march
