Hello.... I was just wondering whether or not to clip my pony out, he is a 13hh Piebald traditional cob who sweats up... a lot, he sweats even when hes only done a small bit of work, he is worked every day at the mo, and when winter comes he will be worked as much as possible, being ridden about 2 or 3 times a week and twice at the weekend. He is always rugged up in the winter anyway, so that isnt a problem he will be rugged up thoroughly against the cold, however he is out all year round, and this winter will probably be no exception. As well as this he is frightened of clippers, i think he would let us do it eventually it would just take some time, and as we arent the most experienced of clippers i think it might be prudent to do a fairly easy and hopefully quick clip. If i do go for it and clip him shall i do it at the end of Oct, as this is apparently the best time to do it.
