Thinking of getting Lister Star clippers but wondering which blade I should use on my cob? Are these clippers mighty enough for a cob coat?
Thanks in advance

The thing that matters with clippers is the size of the engine so that what you need to look at .
I tried a pair stars last time I needed a new set they are light and a nice shape to hold but I found not that powerful .
However if you only have one horse to do they are a decent choice ( we needed something that will do horse after horse one after the other so we went for some with a bigger engine but heavier to hold ).
As the previous posters have said you need medium blades for a first clip and on a fully coated cob with a very thick coat you might need to use coarse blades ( these used on legs a lot ) and then clip again quite soon after .

Thanks I've only got the one to do.
He's got a lot of coat but once bathed it's quite soft ,.even my trimmers will go through it but not massively neatly.
